Is this a government website?
No. WhyFill is a private company. We are not affiliated with any government agency, and we don't act on their behalf.
Are the forms free?
The blank forms and official instructions are always free from the agency that issues them. Our fee, when sales open, covers the preparation software only. Government filing fees are separate and paid to the agency.
Is this legal advice?
No. WhyFill is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. We explain what a field means, never what you should answer. If you need advice, talk to a licensed attorney.
Do you need my Social Security number?
Not to start. If a form asks for an SSN, you enter it during that form's interview. It is stored encrypted, used only for that form, and never shown in full again after you type it.
How does the preview work?
Before you pay, you see your completed form as images with a WhyFill watermark. What you see is what you get: after payment, you download the same form without the watermark.
What if my form's edition changes?
Agencies update their forms from time to time. We track new editions and fill in the current one. Before you file, check the edition date on your form's page.
